I noticed last week that my driver side running board felt spongy. Upon further inspection this is what I found. I'd recommend anyone with fixed running boards to have a look at the support because if it gets bad enough they will crack the plastic when you step on it. The part was $128 from my local Ford dealer

All I have left is my 00 GSXR 600 (SRAD)
Sold my 2010 1k and kept the 600 because it was my first bike and I'm attached to it. I really don't ride much anymore but like to take the 600 out for a blast once and a while

That 600 is a VERY nice bike! Light weight, great power, good handling....yes, hang on to it!

Taking a blast down a empty highway is an excellent way to eliminate stress! One of the bikes in my collection, a '82 Yamaha 650 turbo was a pig from the factory so after restoring it to factory stock, I modified the turbo system to up the boost from 8-10 to 18PSI and every time I think about selling it, I take it for a blast down a empty stretch of road...it never fails to put a big smile on my face! My neighbors are probably wondering why I'm always laughing as I pull it back into my garage....they just don't know!

This is why I install mud guards! They block the salt, rocks and stones from eroding the frame or running boards.

Yeah I thought about it but not really a fan of mud flaps. Once the weather gets warm in going to pull it back off and undercoat both running board supports. Some Rhino line should do the trick

Wow good work Ford. Lawsuit waiting to happen much?

I can just see it: "grandma breaks neck because execs save 30 cents per unit on spray paint"

No the original is galvanized and the new is coated with something else. Looks like it's just paint though
