No diesel or V8, likely because Ford doesn't have a decent V8 or diesel to put in it. The 3.5L EcoBoost runs circles around the 5.0L Coyote V8. If Ford had an engine like the 6.2L Vortec maybe, but even then I'd doubt it. If the rumoured 400hp/480ft-lbs in the Platinum Expedition are true, it'll beat the 6.2L Vortec even. What a let down! They turned it into a prissy SUV. It looks like a women designed it...for women. The 1st Gen, sold in huge numbers. Ford lowered the body in 2003, for women drivers and sales dropped. now it is a full blown SUV. They changed the one thing people loved about it...it was a truck. Mini vans and crossovers, have this segment covered. The dial shifter, says it all, how un-manly. I expect it in a Subaru, but a Expedition? The front looks the same as the Explorer. The side view reminds me of the Chevy Tahoe. They can keep the wifi and sync, not worth 2-cents, but cost $500-$600. The EcoBoost is fine, but why no diesel or V8? I am hoping for Bronco or Raptor version.
Shifter or not, this is still a truck. Dial shifters are common in RAMs as well. It's still body on frame. It's still tracking most of it's lineage other than perhaps styling to the F-150.
