Heat/ac selector switch

This am I warmed up expo and after 15 mins to my surprise it was cold. Heat selector switch was all the way to hot. Blowing cold air. I turned switch all the way cold then back to hot. Heard the blend motor actuate and close door. Heat started working. My question is what is on it's way out? The switch or the actuator?

If I had to guess, I would guess the switch.

If this is the first time it has done that I wouldn't be very concerned. If it continues to happen there are a few things it could be - control, harness or actuator.
Something in the system wasn't making contact until you moved the temp selector. May only need a shot or two of contact cleaner should it happen again.

I'd second the switch and could still last for awhile. My 03 expedition likes to get stuck on hot but cycling it fixes it. Same with my 01 yukon.
