This is my plan. I will use 1/4 inch steel tubing and plate and weld for my 3 inch coil spring spacers. Now, there is not enough up travel in the shock. So I will be using 1.5"d tube that is 1/2 inch thick to move the top shock mounts down 3 inches so it wont effect travel. My question is. Will this work, and my biggest concern is the control arms and steering. I won't need new control arms for 3" will I??

Just reading that makes me nervous... if you trust your fab skills then by all means. You should be fine with control arms and steering. Here is a link to a member's thread that just lifted his 2WD the same amount. Personally I would just invest in some longer shocks instead of moving the mounts, but it is up to you.
