Leaking coolant...looks like squirting from the radiator cap.

Tittle says it. I have taken a pic of the radiator cap and the splash pattern of the white residue from the coolant. Here are some pics.

Would you say that this is just a case of busted radiator cap? Or theres a major issue that i need to check why my coolant is leaking or squirting from the cap? Im not overheqting nor pushing the vehicle too hard. I might have accelerated a few times last night and thats it.

Any inputs? Suggestions? Thank you in advance...

Just replace the cap and see if that takes care of it. You can take the cap to get checked but they're not that expensive and it probaly wouldn't hurt to replace it anyway.

Almost looks to me like someone started to open the cap when she was still hot.

I agree. Replace the cap and carefully rinse off the area to monitor if the leak has been remedied.

Replace the cap and look at the gasket on your old one. Leaks will usually be a areas that defective on the gasket - nicks, gouges etc. Also inspect the top of the filler neck for the same. Everything needs to be nice and smooth. Make sure you put the same pressure rated cap on. You don't want to increase the rating over stock.
