Just got our 2018 EXPY XLT with FX4, HD Tow & a bunch of other options.
On the top of the dash on the drivers side there is a white lens & when first starting there is several red LEDS (under that lens) that light up for just a few seconds
Anyone know what this is for

It is part of the forward collision warning They flash and beep when you are approaching another vehicle from behind too quickly.

Nice. Have to wonder if that also means the OP's truck has adaptive cruise? Our 2015 Explorer Sport has the LED's on the dash as well as adaptive cruise, and while our 17' Expy LTD has front proximity sensors, it does not even have a cutout on top of the dash for the LED's, so no adaptive cruise.

Ot will, the drivers assist pkg bundles the adaptive cc, collision alert with auto braking, and warning together. The architecture of the previous expy wouldnt allow the enhanced features. Also, the 2018s xlts do not come with forward sensing radar
