Please help!! I have a 2002 Expedition with 116,000 miles. It will occassionally idle up around 2500 to 3000 rpm while driving or in park. I changed the IAC and it seemed to help for a week, but now it is back. Sometimes you can push down on the gas pedal and it will drop down to normal. Has anyone experienced this? and if so where do I start.

Thanks Todd

make sure your throttle body isn't sticking open....
Large vacuum leaks can cause this as well but it would usually run rough at first when the vacuum leak appears.

Thanks Matt, I am somewhat mechanically inclined, is the throttle body a difficult thing to take apart and clean? It has never ran rough when it is doing this, just really high rpms.

Cleaned the throttle body on Monday, so far so good. But it has done this before. Hopefully I got it.
