Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster.

I've had my 97 for 16 years and just love the truck. What my question is, if one installs a Cold Air Intake does this also entail installing a replacement exhaust system to compensate for the increased airflow therefore the increased outflow to gain the performance? I know that there is nominal mpg increase if any but there would a noticeable performance increase.

What I'm asking is installing a CAI entail installing an upgraded exhaust system and would I need to get a performance tuner to adjust the engine?

The factory intake is already cold air. It pulls air from the fender. IMO, you can't improve on the factory intake that much.

But when I look at the exhaust manifolds, I see all sorts of room for improvement.
