Seems like over the past few days I have developed a small leak in the area of the oil filter. I was hoping it was an issue with the filter but I replaced it with no change. I am assuming that it's the gasket between the oil filter adapter and the block. Is this a common issue with the 5.4s? Looks like I will have to drain the coolant also to replace it which sucks.

I just had my oil filter adapter gasket changed and they did not drain the coolant. You will lose SOME when you remove the adapter but by no means all.
Coolant looked good; so we just replaced what was lost
We did do an oil change obviously. Gasket was about $10 at Oreilly's.

resurrecting this thread.. so.. I just developed this as well, the reason for resurrecting...

Ole: so it is the gasket that is behind the oil filter mounting "mount" that seals it against the block or motor? is it a pain to change or would it be better served to have a shop do it..
