Wiz, did he offer any guarantee? I took mine first to shop that had multiple awards on the wall specializing in Al body repair work..
When I asked about a guarantee, he said nope, it's from corrosion no guarantees at all! The parts need to be dipped into the Zinc Chromate so it penetrates inside of all the seams and such otherwise the process will start all over again

If you look at hoods because the seams are exposed, this is where you can see the bubbling long before it creeps around to the outside surface

I got a similar response from a local reputable shop. They actually have an entire separate building just for aluminum work so there's no contamination.

Only way they'll give any guarantee is if the panel gets replaced. They wouldn't even touch it once the corrosion started.

I would but it will be a waste of time when I had a 2002 explorer the rear fiberglass panel cracked like others. Ford never did anything about that too I replaced it and painted it myself . Since it was Cosmetic damage not a safety issue ford never did anything about it this falls in the same category and this been happening for some time now since the second generation expedition’s ford knows about for sure . Probably will only fix in-warranty vehicles.

I wonder what happens if you have the problem, not yet gone to the dealership for service, and this happens???? The inebriated driver had totally passed out when he crashed into me! Pissed, no, its much worse than that!!!!
