Had the Trannie rebuilt at around 100,000 miles.
Multiple Ball joint replacements
Replaced the plugs & coils at 180,000 miles, first time
the dealer did it (around 80,000 miles, I just bought the truck
and wanted them done).
Second time, I did it, and I'll tell you what, I won't do it again,
what a PITA!!!.
Other than that, she is running good.
98 w/5.4 72 K - just replaced brake lines and rotors. No rust on body, major rust on frame. Broke steering knuckle removing one rusted on rotor. Working on shift issue
2000 Expy 5.4 with 165,551. In the last year I've replaced front rotors, rear lower trailing arms, brake hose (rusted), steering return line (rusted), alternator and one COP.
i mean theyre great trucks but you cant really expect to buy any older vehicle and not have problems with it. Its just gonna happen.
lets put it this way, my next vehicle will be a ford, and the one after that
122k on the odo (might be 222k, the guy I bought it from seemed like the kind of guy that might F with an odometer lol)
