My wipers are possessed.

Sometimes you start the car, and the wipers start on their own. I cannot stop them. If I turn them on and back off, they stop moving continually and go on about every 45 seconds.

I can turn the Expy off, and it is like a slot machine: turn it on and they might run and they might not. If it runs, turn it off and try again.

The warmer the day, the more likely it is that the wiper will run. The wetter, the less likely it will start on its own. I can always turn them on, but never turn them off.

I replaced the relay, and nothing changed.

What can be done to perform an exorcism on this wiper?

Thanks in advance!

This happens year round, so water is not the fault. I will look for rust. But if it was rusting, wouldn't other things flip on and off too? Wouldn't it have to be on the relay to cause this kind of possession?
