Guys, last week I picked up a 2011 XLT 4x4. She's nearly perfect (87k). This will replace my '01 XLT 4x4 that I've been posting about on that forum for the past eight years.
I'd appreciate your advice as this generation is new to me. I just ordered the Rough Country 2.5"/1" leveling kit https://www.roughcountry.com/ford-leveling-lift-kit-585.html?find=2011-ford-expedition-4wd-385187 as the ride height/rake is not good. And since I'll be in there slinging hammers and wrenches, I'm planning to change the shocks on all four corners.
I've been eyeing the Bilstein 4600 series shocks here: https://www.shocksurplus.com/produc...-shocks-set-2007-2013-ford-expedition-2wd-4wd
I installed Bilsteins on my '01 about 8 years ago and really like them. However, I read one Amazon review on the front shocks that has me slightly concerned as I don't want the front end from the new Bilsteins to be too stiff/high (1" too high, according to the reviewer). "replaced all 4 shocks on my 2008 Navigator with Bilsteins. rear shocks as advertised, improved ride and comfort. Front shocks way to stiff, very stiff and harsh, no "give" on front. they raised front 1", enough to alter headlight beam."
What do you guys think/recommend? Thanks much!
