Bought a 2000 expedition Xlt 4.6 for 3 grand and went to do a oil change that same day
And saw the radiator and ac condenser just laying on the frame.

The bottom of the radiator support is gone lol.

So looks like cutting out the old one and welding in a new radiator support is the way to go

I'll post a pic when I get to my desktop

"rust sucks"

Yes it does!

There has been 1 or more members in here that have replaced the radiator support. If I can find it I will post link. At least the radiator supports are readily available...

bought all new transmission lines, power steering lines and radiator support, radiator, ac condenser.

500 bucks.. doing all the work myself. saving a shit ton.... the door rust i'm just going to buy sheet metal and fix all 4 door bottoms. unless they sell a door patch but i'm having a hell of a time finding them online.

Wow!!

And I thought mine was bad!

I have not had any issues with my rocker panels. (yet)

My radiator support was severely rusted but mild in comparison to yours. Maybe I caught it in time. I also have a lot of rust on the undercarriage of the body itself. Frame..... minor surface rust.

total plus shipping came to like 700 bucks in all . sheet metal is cheap like 35 bucks for a 4 ft by 8 ft sheet of 20 gauge steel. i'm just going to copy the door form and cut out the rust and weld in new metal and then bed liner the lower part of the xlt. like the rocker panels and the bottom doors. inside and out. and then scrap the surface rust off of what i can get to and spray the under side of the exped.

i just cant believe it rusted so bad. my 91 mits 3000gt vr4 doesnt have any rust and its lower to the ground and i have driven it in 6 winters. but this expedition. man .... it looks like someone just parked it on a salt pile for 3 years straight
