Hello all,

Anybody have thoughts on the STP has treatment they sell at auto parts stores? My dad has some containers of it laying around, but I wonder if it would do more harm than good or nothing at all.

Just my two cents....
When you use a quality brand name oil it will have additives already in it.
Same goes for fuel.

For those that swear by the additives, what gains can be documented by their use?

You can put it on craigslist and make a few bucks.

I agree with stamp, but I do have good luck using Fuel additives for a few purposes:

1. If its going to sit for a prolonged time.
2. New car (to you). You never know what the last person ran for fuel, so stuff like GumOut and SeaFoam can help make a sleight sputter go away.

Oil additives, just buy better oil like he says. same with any other fluids. I dont use high test gas (especially at altitude) and there is incomplete combustion in engines out here, so a fuel "cleaner/stabilizer" can go a long way - but not often.
