My trans won't go past drive.
It will not go to 2nd or 1st.
It is not the 2 bolts, or the shift tubes, or the cable.
I took cable off and the trans won't go past Drive.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Can it be fixed in vehicle?

unfortunatly that sounds like a mechanical issue inside the trans.

You can try to drop the pan and see if there is anything broken or in the way of the shaft, but more than likely it will have to come out.

check for a faulty mount on trans.

A faulty trans mount will not give the symptoms he is describing. He states that he has removed the shift cable fromt he trans and tried moving the " shift shaft " of the transmission and it still will not go past the drive position.

This means it is an internal transmission issue and not a mount, because there is no binding of a cable.

Update....

Ok.. Here it goes..
After not driving it for months because I didn't want more damage if it was internal, I raised it up today to tear into it.
I loosened the 2 bolts that indicate position to the ECM, and a rock fell out..
It was behind the sensor about the size of a credit card.
A ROCK.
That's all that was wrong.
It was stopping the linkage from going full stroke.
I feel DUMB.
