Hi all,

So I want to do transmission flush. Valvoline center is like $110-140. Dealership was almost double.

Now I know dealership is using motor craft transmission fluid etc, but the Valvoline uses the same basic synthetic fluid

Thoughts on either? Just over 100k and have another 2k mile camping trip in July.

Thanks!

Matt

Never have a 6R75 or 6R80 transmission flushed dealer or not, the fluid exchange machines they use have bulk fluid with general additive packages that will not suit your trans and you may experience problems

In fords own words on the 6R75&80:

This transmission has an internal thermal bypass valve contained within the case. The thermal bypass valve will not allow the use of any type of transmission fluid exchange machine to be used on this transmission.

The proper way on these is to have the pan dropped, filter replaced, then a refill...

Is that how the dealership does it? Maybe why the increased cost?

So what about differentials etc.

Even some dealers may try to sell you a flush. Your best bet is to specifically request a pan drop and filter change.
