My 2004 Expedition was stolen. The key cylinder was totally destroyed. I replaced the system from the key cylinder to the ignition switch from a salvage yard. When the key is turned on every thing appears to work however the starter won't engage and crank the motor,,, nothing happens when turned to the start position, the security light blinks rapidly. Does the new key have to be programmed to the car? If so how and who can do this!!!

(1) You may want to take a ORIGINAL key and place it near the PATS transmitter then using the new key see if the expy will start.

(2) You may need an un-programed key to try this with while having the original key near the PATS transmitter.

If the expy does start then you would be able to drive it to the dealership or to a locksmith otherwise if either has to make a house call you will pay more. Also you can figure about $100.00 to have two keys programed

being the expy was stolen. When you got it back was there any body damage? If so check the fuel pump cutoff switch even if there was no damage check it anyway.
