Anyone have any experience with their powercore filter? What are the main differences? The powercore is a dry filter, right?

I have no direct experience with this brand but most aftermarket CAIs are a waste of money unless you have significant hp mods. a good filter and the Gotts mod are plenty enough for 99% of all expys. they do look nice and sound good also though.

I ran a Volant when I had my Tahoe Z71. LOVED IT! Saw some HP increase, minor mileage increase and gave the stock sysem a nice throaty growl upon accelration

I think that powercore is just what they call their their filter material. Now there is a volany Pro 5 (or some crap like that) dry filter you can buy, I see no need for that personally

my volant cai made my expy sound nice and growly like stated above, it increases throttle response also

I got a good deal on a volant powercore CAI, installed it this weekend... fit well with only minor tweaking (had to flip and bend the mounting bracket) due to having installed an airaid throttle body spacer a couple weeks ago.

With the TBS I got a 1.2 mpg increase, and a little bump in performance. Next time I fill up and go through another tank of gas, I'll report on how this CAI effects mpg. It's definitely got some better response and is more growly as others have pointed out...

So ive gone through 2 tanks of gas with the volant - definitely some increased response and sound, which is fun, but no increase in MPG at all...

on the first tank of gas my MPG actually went down, I attribute this to me driving more aggressively because it is fun with the boost and new growl....

on the 2nd tank I did my best to keep my driving the same as I usually do and and did not hammer it for fun... mpg went back up to where it was before I installed the intake. Im getting about 13.2 mpg in my 2004 with a 5.4 - I feel like it should be more. Im going to do a tune up next, then exhaust . tuner and electric fan are not out of the running yet as well... I drive 700 miles/week, so anything I can do to gain some mpg will pay for itself... !
