Why don't they place clothes hooks in the cargo area?

I have noticed several SUV's we have owned do not place clothes hooks in the cargo area.
They are almost always inside the second and third row seats.
Every morning I place my gym bag, lunch, and laptop in the cargo area and then walk to the second row door to hang my shirt.
It would be so much nicer if they simply placed a hook on each side of the cargo area.

My 98 had a hook in the cargo area, but my 2000 does not. I used to keep my jacket hung back there. JC Whitney used to sell a spring loaded bar (similar to a shower curtain rod) that you could hang across the back and hang all your clothes. Or you could just find some kind of accessory hooks. Perhaps get the same hooks you have now from a junk yard and install them in the back?

my guess is its not feasible...because why would someone lean in the cargo area to possibly get dirty vs having it in the back door...so what happens when your suit gets dirty from leaning in...for a meeting...dinner...important/special occassion/reason...NOT A GOOD LOOK

You think the Expeds bad, my Dodge Ram is a single cab and the hook is behind the driver seat. I would have thought behind the passenger seat would be more appropriate, so I could either lay it over the seat back, or lay the seat forward to let it hang straight.

I agree about the junk yard thing, go get some more and add them where needed, just make sure you find a solid way to secure them, other than a long self tapper sticking up through the roof.

A long self tapper through the roof? Are you retarded? He needs at least a 6" bolt with a lock washer and a nut sticking out of the roof to make sure his coat doesn't fall down.

Yes thats the ticket! And on the outside it could double as a CB antenna mount. That way you can call out for the closed dry cleaner while your on the road.

Yeah, I too was thinking of mounting something on both of the trim panels.
I can see what guys are saying about dress coats inside the door.
But my use would be hanging clothes to wear after going to the gym every morning.
I know there are also times when we go to the beach and my wife wants to hang a dress or two for when we go out. The passengers don't want to have to stare at that for 4 hours! lol

it was meant that he should not just screw into the headliner haphazardly. make sure there's something behind to secure to....something other than the roof skin. lol

The washer sounds like an ok idea, I would make sure to get the largest diameter washer you can fit so the weight is as widely distributed on the back of the headliner as it can be. You don't want your good suit yanking a big rip in your headliner when you go over some railroad tracks or other messy bumps.

RobbieG is on to something though I think...a long bolt that can then double as a CB ant. mount, PRICELESS!

They also make a rod that goes across the back, its made of rubber and is adjustable, my bf owns one and it works pretty good....
