In looking to put some led strip lighting mounted just under the dash panel under the steering wheel and I want it to come on with the running light switch just like all the other interior lights. So my question is does any one know if there is a wire under there to tsp into so that happens? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

You can tap into basically any of the illumination wires going to a nearby switch. For the footwells, it might be easiest to take out your ac controls and tap into the wires that go to the plug in light bulb that illuminates that since its kinda in the center of where you're looking to install them and it's very easy to remove

Thats a great idea. I think I was making it over-complicated. Its funny how sometimes a very simple answer can answer a lot of other questions. Thank you very much.

I'd make sure to use it's own relay and fuse. Not sure how much extra load the dash interior lights can take :)

I'm currently in the process of putting all leds in for illumination light so led lights in both places should be good.

I'm not sure how much extra load they can take either but I've been running stuff wired this way for a while with no issues
