Ok looking to do my body lift on my 97 expy 4x4. Was wondering how many people have done it themselves. Any tips, info, Things to look for, advice, The shop wants $650-$850 to do it. I say F that. I can do it myself. Any real advise from any one or group of people that have actually done it would be helpful. The only mount i see that looks to be difficult is one of the left side rears that appears to go through a cross member. Any other advise or things to look for helpful hints, etc. Is greatly appreciated. I dont have a lift so i will be doing this in my driveway, if a little muscle, a jack, some jack stands a air compressor, and some elbow grease.

Soak the bolts with penetrating lube for nights ahead of time.
I didn't have any real problems front bolt broke taking it out, not a big deal.
Just follow the instruction that came with it, I'll assume 3" performance accessories kit?

Yes I'm going with the 3" performance accessories body lift. Has all new bolts and the bumber relocation brackets.

That's the same one I have. Its a really good kit. Just lock your steering wheel before putting the extender in and you will be fine.. Have fun and good luck. Post pics when finished

WD40 Rust Release spray on all the bolts.
Pick up some 4x4 wood blocks to help support the body.

What did you guys do with the break lines to the master cylinder? I read through the instructions and that really seems to be my only area if concern. That and destroying my mounts trying to get the bolts out.

I loosened them a little and twisted for more slack in the line.I can post a picture of the direction the brake lines are going now.
Get a big pair of pliers that can hold the bottom of the nut that has the ruber bushing around it. Have someone Hold it tighte underneath while you tighten it ontop
