I have found some info on tightening the front torsion bars to add a little lift to the front. I have seen people list it as to add 2”. Then just adding a space on the rear for 2”.

When doing this how does it affect the ride quality? I know you’d have to be losing some down travel and would guess your alignment would need to be done. Would this also pull your front tires closer together?

Is this just a cheap easy way out and it really shouldnt be done? Or is there no negitives about it?

I've done the torsion twist on every explorer I've owned, I'm sure its the same as the expedition. The ride stiffened up for me in front quite a bit, which I liked. A lot less dive in the corners.

I did it. No problems. I never did get an alignment done either. ( Maybe should have but haven't noticed ant issues in last 2 years)

I've done the TT in my 99 and no problems, also have done it to my old 97 F150 and 00 Ranger and had no problems with it at all... just a little stiffer ride but thats with any lift is gonna make it ride rougher

I was looking at the to crank up my torsion bolts and noticed that the passenger side is screwed in further than the drivers side by at least 3/4". Is that normal?

My bolts are uneven too. Just measure each side in the same area , for example the center of the wheel well to the ground, and crank each side up till they are the desired height on each side. Go for a drive, remeasure, and recrank. The bolts will still be uneven, but your truck should be level. Oh yeah, then post pics!!!!!!!
