Help!!!! No heat in winter land!!!!

Water thermostat start to open temperature 87-91°C (188-195°F)

Well that's great to know, thank u very much. I don't have to worry anymore now and I guess the guys at the ford parts dept. (2 dealerships) don't know wtf they are talking about which doesn't surprise me at all.

After thinking about this again those 2 parts guys at the 2 ford dealerships should know what the oem thermostat temps are, I looked at the stant website and the thermostat for my expedition fits a wide number of ford vehicles through allot of years so it should be common knowledge to them.

Either way I'm glad the ppl on this forum are well versed in fords, I take the ppls advice on this forum over those ass clowns anyday.

The truck is finally getting it's coolant flush tomorrow, I picked up a new rad cap as well, on the back of the prestone flush bottles it says to replace the rad cap with a new unit when changing the thermostat and gasket when doing a coolant flush, I don't know if it really matters or not but the stant unit was only 6$ after tax so I figured what the hell.

I'll let u guys know how the coolant flush goes tomorrow!

OK to wrap this thread up, I had a"power flush " and new coolant today and all problems are 100% solved. The rear heat is as hot as the front now, I can't tell either apart where before I had no heat and then a return of heat but not as strong as the front.

The mechanic is someone I deal with in my job and he mentioned that it was good that I did the flush when I did because my system was full of junk.

2 bottles of bars leaks, 3 bottles of flush, tons of silicone gasket sealer, metal shavings, etc.

Hey everyone,

The temps have really stared to fall in my neck of the woods and I have started plugging my expedition in while it's parked and I noticed last night in the garage when I plug the block heater in I can hear it turn on, it almost sounds like a frying pan with oil in it start to crackle.

Is it normal to hear the block heaters working when they are plugged in? I've never heard a block heater working on any other vehicle before, and I don't want to wake up to my expedition and my garage on fire because the block heater malfunctioned.

Oh and I recently tried Quaker state defy syn blend 5w20 and it's amazing, the motor is so quiet and responsive had anyone else every given it a try? If not I would recommend it for higher milage vehicles, I have over 340,000 kms and it runs like a new truck.
