Just got a sweet 2000 Expy EB with 118,000 miles on it. In really good shape but the subwoofer doesn't work. I read that the common issue was a blown speaker so I ordered a new speaker and tore the truck apart. Discovered the speaker is fine. I hooked the sub speaker to another system and it plays fine. Just to be sure I took another known good speaker and connected to the subwoofer output and nothing. Got dark so I haven't gone any farther. Today I'll check for blown fuses but beyond that, I don't know.
Any suggestions?

Thanks

It sounds like your amp might be bad. I'm not familiar with the wiring layout in the 2000 Expy, but I would check that. If you can find a fusebox diagram that will be able to tell you if there is a fuse dedicated to the subwoofer, check there. Logic tells me that there is one fuse for the audio system, so if that was blown, none of your audio would work.

I have a replacement amp/sub assembly if you're interested... Came out of my '00 and worked flawlessly upon removal.

Thanks Tony. I ordered the transistors today. If that doesn't work I'll shoot you a PM.

Thanks to Tony I have bass in my Expy!

USPS tracking shows my parts for the amp landed in San Francisco today from China. I'll try to fix the amp and either have a spare or throw the subwoofer in my Scout. Might be nice to have bass in the Scout. Shake some of the rust off.

How hard was it to get to the speaker? I think mine is blown - darn rattles.

remove 2nd row seat belt...3rd row seat belt...and the bottom point bolt for the 3rd row seat belt...you will need start sockets...T50-something...remove lift gate top and bottom panels...remove window panels and lastly pull main panel from side and out...cargo area needs to be folded flat
