Expedition 2007 Vacuum tube

I am not a mechanic so I will not be using mechanic terminology. Recently my truck has been hesitating on hard acceleration starting at 40mph. When accelerating slow no problem. I'm going to replace spark plugs, COPs, and belts. But in looking inside the engine bay I noticed on the left side of the engine next to the battery two small vacuum tubes. Those tubes are broken brittle. I wonder if this is what is causing the hesitationI have been going though hundreds of images and videos to see what those tubes are. There are no videos on those tubes not images. I came across this part that looks like it

I have no idea what it is or what is does. Please someone tell me what this part is for.

Any vacuum leak can cause an engine hesitation or stumble.

Go to your local Ford dealer with the vehicle's VIN. The part's employee can access a photo image of the area where the tubes are broken and you can determine exactly what part(s) are damaged and order them (or buy them if in stock). Most friendly part's employees will blow-up the image on the screen and allow you to point out what parts you need.

Before going to the dealer, I would take some time and check all visible vacuum lines and fittings to see if any other are bad.

FYI that side with the battery is considered the right side in your expedition. It is that way based on the driver sitting behind the steering wheel. And also it is the side that the lights will blink when you use the right -turn signals. On the engine it may also be referred to as Bank ONE

Welcome to the forum. Without seeing any pictures, it is difficult to know exactly what you are talking about, but if it is just rubber tubing, you can go to the auto parts store and get some vacuum tubing of the same size and just replace it. If it is just a couple of broken hoses, you might be able to put a piece of brass tubing in the hole and connect the other side to it as a temporary fix to see if that takes care of the issue.
