what do i need

i picked up 2 kicker comp 12`s and an 1100 watt amp... what do i need to hook them up to the factory system. any special how to guidence would be great

Power wire from battery.
Ground wire to chassis.
Remote turn-on lead from tapping into headunit power (check a haynes manual for wiring schematic).
Signal from tapping into factory speaker wire (either from one of the speakers or the headunit, check the manual to see which wire is which).
If the amp has speaker-level inputs, you are done.
If not, you need a line-out converter to change the signal to RCA cables.

You'll also need a low-pass filter, if the amp doesn't already have one.
You'll need to adjust it until the subs are only putting out the desired frequencies.

What is the amp, is it rated 1100 watts peak or rms, under or over rated? Odds are you will be fine, but with power, bigger is always better. Huge electrical upgrades aren't absolutely needed for only 1100 watts, but it never hurts.

the amp is a Sony Xplod 1100 peak and 960 rms... i was thinking about adding a cap but it may be over kill

Don't go anywhere near a cap!!! You shouldn't have any voltage problems with that amp. Just do the big 3 and you'll be good.

Stock electrical is usually fine, depending on stock alt/batt/etc, up to between 1000wrms and 1500wrms.

It looks like most of the sony mono amps have a low-pass filter built in, so you won't need an external one.
