LOC in a 2013 Limited

Hello all. I'm a complete noob to these vehicles so please forgive the ignorance. My question is this. I wanted to install an aftermarket amp/sub. I got everything ran but no sound comes from the sub. All other speakers are playing. Where I'm pulling the signal from is the factory subwoofer wires. It was toast so i thought this would be a perfect source. Its a DVC so it had 4 wires which I hooked to the LOC and like I said, no sound from the new setup. I also had trouble getting power to my amp's remote connection. I used a fuse tap in the factory radio fuse spot but it didnt work. I ended up having to run the line from the battery which as you all know is not ideal as the amp will have constant power. I've hooked up several of these LOCs without any issue. What did i do wrong here?
