Looking to upgrade the valve body (accumulator) in my 4r100. Anybody done this? Recommendations?

I believe that is the same tranny as the Lightning. If so, a Factory Tech Valve Body (FTVB) is a huge upgrade. I have heard of another one that has been labeled the Punisher Valve body, and I think Woodbine Motorsports has his contact info.
If I were you, I would look for the info on lightningrodder.com, and nloc.net. Those 2 sites have a wealth of info for the Lightning community, and a TON of info on valve bodies for the 4R100 tranny.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about the FTVB - just want to make sure it won't hurt my tranny with 170K on it.

It will actually help prolong your tranny be preventing it from slipping between shifts. The FTVB will shorten the lag between shifts, giving the truck a much quicker, and noticeably snappy shift. If you don't want to snap your passenger's necks, I suggest the basic upgrade rather than the racing upgrade! lol.

I have been hearing really good things about that Punisher VB. I have exactly 0 personal experience with it though.

I have heard that too - but I also heard it is more of a racing application and will definitely give bone-jarring shifts, even in day-to-day driving... A little extreme for what I am looking for.

this is not accurate at all....most of these are built based on input from the customer, what kind of shift mannerisms they want, and what the vehicle uses are....towing, racing etc.....

My bad. I apologize if I have spread some misinformation here. From your name - are you the manufacturer of the Punisher valve body? I am definitely interested.

I think from the sticker in your driver door (on the B pillar.) I think there's a code for the transmission which you can then look up.

I'm kinda confused about which transmission I have. My transmission code is W, which is supossed to be a 5 speed manual tranny, but I have a 4 speed auto. WTF over? Anyone know how to tell another way?
