Can you be more specific and provide examples?
The Expedition is not meant to be a Sporty Vehicle. It is a LARGE SUV. Can it be quick off the line? Yes, but Sporty? Not really something I would use to describe it.
I really have no issue with the shift strategy in general. It does a decent job. I have driven FAR worse!
The tranny is a popular luxury sport sedan model though
3rd gen has essentially the same gearbox as an E90 BMW 335d which IS a sporty as hell tire shredder
Its just that 6r80 is license-built by ford and ZF 6hp28 is the original...btw the Ford version, strangely enough, has a few improvements over the original
Still doesn’t take away that it’s a 6,000 pound SUV..... A bimmer that is 3,000 pounds is a whole different world.
3800 vs 5600-5800...
+50% not +100%
The original post stated a "2-3 second" delay in downshift(that sounds a bit off). I don't consider a Focus, Escape,Edge Fusion or a Expedition a sports car. I personally, don't want my vehicle to be just decent. I want it to run, at its full potential, all the time. I want it, without any computer algorithm, overriding my inputs. The owner should have an option, to disable it, like the ZF version.Edge, Fusion, Escape, Focus, Just to name a few. Do I need to keep going?
The Expy has M, where most Fords have S.

Yeah that was definitely a quicker response than what I experienced. I would think from a dig I would have similar results though. I was doing around 60mph then floored it to change lanes and it felt like the truck died until it accelerated really hard afterwards.
