Thank you for letting me join. I just got 2011, according to the vin it is listed as a XLT/KING RANCH. How can this be listed as 2 different model.

Xlt means it's the longer SUV, king ranch is a trim package. I think that's right? Guys?

Does it have any King Ranch badging? Would be pretty much loaded and have KR symbols on seats/ center console and exterior along with two tone paint on the exterior. You know if you have a KR, saddle leather etc. XLT is more of a basic trim package although it’s nicely equipped and KR is loaded with all the options.

VIN positions 5, 6, and 7 are the determining factor.

As you can see below, XLT and King Ranch are grouped together by Ford.

2011 codes:
U1F Expedition XL 2WD
U1G Expedition XL 4X4
U1H Expedition XLT/King Ranch 2WD
U1J Expedition XLT/King Ranch 4X4
U1K Expedition Limited 2WD
U2A Expedition Limited 4X4
K1F Expedition EL XL 2WD
K1G Expedition EL XL 4X4
K1H Expedition EL XLT/King Ranch 2WD
K1J Expedition EL XLT/King Ranch 4X4
K1K Expedition EL Limited 2WD
K2A Expedition EL Limited 4X4

Best way to find out if its King Ranch is to sit in the seats. If they're uncomfortable as hell, its a KR.

Thanks. Seats are comfortable LOL, also OR markings anywhere or wood grain paneling. I did read the el has a bigger fuel tank, guess I will look at how many gallons it takes

My 17 XLT EL has a 33.5 gallon tank. When you fill up, bring lunch.

You'd think xlt meant extra long truck. Like BMW here in SF meaning break my window, cause that's what the homeless and drug addicts do!

XLT/King Ranch? Every time I enter my vin or another king ranch in a vin decoder it says they are a Eddie Bauer.

Even my insurance co. was confused.

That pretty much means the VIN doesnt contain that info, or the decoder doesnt know how to get to it.

XLT will be cloth and basic, King Ranch will have saddle leather and additional decals

There's no fun ones in English

In eastern europe they decode it as something like "mook"s battle wagon"...which used to be quite spot-on in the 90s, when it was the mid level organized crime enforcer's vehicle of choice

Mine says XLT but also has leather seats. No cloth, no King Ranch badging.

I thought it was a King Ranch XLT. I didn't know it's one or the other. The dealership advertised it as both. I guess that explains why I don't find anything saying King Ranch, cause it's not?

Leather 10-way power seat (passenger seat is manual) is an option in the XLT and SSV in gray or beige. They were $1295 on a 2008.

King Ranch cars had a superior natural brown leather. In 2008,XLT (includes SSV), Eddie Bauer, Limited and King Ranch trim models were offered.

I really hope you weren't charged the premium for the king ranch package if you don't have it.
