What is the proper gap for the plugs on a 2013 Ford Expedition 5.4 engine?

What is the cylinder layout I have a misfire on #8 and wondering if it is drivers side or passenger side rear?

The gap is pre set on these plugs

Passanger side front to back 1234
Drivers side front to back 5678

Your misfire is the rear most drivers side

The 2013 has the adjustable gap plugs, best to check the gap on them and not trust them out of the box. Our 2007 have the fixed gap plugs as well as many 2008.

Page 360 (page 359 in the manual) of the link above has the gap settings.

.041 thousandths is gap for 2013 5.4 motor. Like JExpedition said, you always check, Many times I saw parts hit floor. I can't tell you back when I sold parts, that packs of plugs hit the floor when pulling them down off shelf. Depending how they hit floor either nothing changes, or the gap gets smashed down .020. And on top of that package looked fine after fall. Oops!

Driver rear iirc

Misfires are usually wet COPs or an injector that's done

Got to use that old timing light for something besides a Lazer light show! Good idea. Takes a little longer , but you can actually see the miss.

I get an occasional #8 misfire under hard acceleration immediately after a zero throttle condition, but only with cheap gas. I always attributed it to the stupid variable timing not being able to keep up with low octane variances. I never have the issue when running on 50% or higher ethanol (flex fuel), I have a strange feeling since this used to be a state owned truck it was tuned with flex fuel and ran most of its life that way. I also have no speed limiter due to the special tune they put on it and for some reason it is insanely fast from 80-120mph. Like I can outrun a mustang GT or Camaro doing 80-120 sprints on the interstate :)
