Electrical issue need help asap

We had a long discussion about low fuel causing early pump failure. A lot here said that's not true, due to how low in the tank the pickup is, and I forget the other reason. I think it's just age and time. Even the strongest pumps go maybe 15-20 years, and that's all she wrote. Personally, I never got below 1/4 tank. I've pushed 3,000 pound cars, and that wasn't fun. Wouldn't want to push 5,800 to the side of roadway.

Yeah I never get below 1/4. I actually considered havking an access panel but more likely then not I will drop the tank

Ok gentlemen I want to thank everyone for the help. Found out it was for sure the sending unit swapped it yesterday and now she's all good

Thanks for following up. Is the sending unit the part that reads the gas level in the tank? Did you have to pull the tank to change that out?

Yes it is the part that reads and sends level. I will admit I did it the shortcut way and made an access panel in the floor. And I have a new piece of steel over it and sealed it all up

A lot of the fuel pumps (gas and diesel)_ use the fuel to cool them down during use. Had some major problems with that on my nephews Cummins.
