I was around 18-19MPG average with the Boostmax.

I have since removed the Boostmax and have a SCT with a 5 Star Tune. More power and aggressive shifting. Just finished a trip from Richmond VA to Charlotte NC. Trip average was 22.8MPG. Speed was between 75 & 78 MPH.

If anyone is interested in my Boostmax I am selling on Craigslist. https://richmond.craigslist.org/pts/d/richmond-jms-boostmax-for-ford-35/6847800540.html

So any feedback you have in regards to the two products? Why you decided to move from one to the other? If you did it all again, I assume you'd go straight for the tune? Real world differences between the two? The reason I'm asking is I'm sure there's others like me that are looking for feedback on the options, but what I've found is peeps that have done more than one option can give more in description of their experiences as they have something else to compare it to other than stock.

Based on the great results I've had on my '16 GT, I'm not new to tunes, and certainly not interested in running premium all the time... but very interested in the transmission re-calibration and the little extra power from 87.

Thanks!

The Boostmax only adds torque and horsepower with either 87 or 93 octane. The 5 Star tune does add around the same (I think according to my butt-meter) torque & horsepower on 87/93 but with transmission calibration that is all the difference in the world. When driving normal my shifts are smooth. When I mash the gas pedal down it will chirp the tires in 2nd & 3rd gear. This is why I run in 4A all the time because on a few occasions when the rear tires would break loose in 2WD, the stability control turns on and it throttles back the power. Running in 4A is the only way to go.

You can get an 87 or 89 octane tune instead of the 93 octane. The knock sensor will help in pulling timing for safety.
