The manual describes the interval. It's determined by the vehicle based on your driving conditions and can vary from 3,000 (?) to 10,000 miles.

Last time I complained about paying more for better quality/ longer lasting oil was in high school.
Seriously, who would skimp out to save $8 on an oil change when they're driving a $50k+ vehicle???
People are stupid

Walmart, Motorcraft Semi Synth 5-30 and Motorcraft oil filter FL-500. It came from the factory that way.... I change it every 3,000...I don't care what the oil life % is. I paid too much for the truck and don't want to change out a bad turbo....

I've been changing it every 5000 miles or so. Bought a package of three oil/filter changes, synthetic blend at the dealer. $90+tax, so about $33 per oil change. Not bad.

In our area you can get Syntech full synthetic for 51cents a quart more than Motorcraft semi synthetic. Also for Costco members, Costco puts Mobil One on sale every couple of months for $28 for a case of six.

I don't want to start an oil war or anything but I am curious to people's experience with Mobil 1 oil? I have used it in my jeep jk 3.8L v6 in 2 separate engines and had oil consumption issues with it every time. If I use Castrol GTX I do not have consumption issues. I thought it was just the 3.8L and possibly a oil spec issue but then I bought a 2010 Jeep commander with a Hemi and it also had oil consumption issues with Mobil 1 but did not exhibit this behavior on Castrol brand oil.

A friend also had a similar consumption issue when using mobil 1 oil but not when using castrol/valvoline/Quaker.

I can't explain my experience and it doesn't make sense to me but that has been my experience over 170k miles on my JK and 2 engines and over 120k on the Hemi. Maybe Mopar and Mobil 1 just don't like each other.

Since I buy Mobil One in bulk, I use it in almost everything(2 vehicles, 3 lawn mowers, 2 line trimmers, a generator, a boat engine, a pressure washer) and have never had a oil consumption issue in any of them. Every one that uses go the recommended interval with no oil added. The only experience I have had with a Mopar is a friend's Charger with the 3.5l V6 that needed a tune up, water pump, and timing belt. In the process while checking the oil there was none visible on the dipstick. It took three quarts to fill and upon checking the service sticker it had been 3000 miles since service. That problem was the result of the oil change place putting 5w20 oil in instead of 5w30.

I have had a pretty bad experience with it on my old '05 CTS (was new at the time). Of course, that motor was kind of notorious for that problem, and which led to a timing chain stretch and an unfortunate meeting of the valves and pistons.

Had consumption issues in my '16 Yukon with it, too. Changed out to Castrol and Pennzoil synthetics and the issues seemed to go away.

I just run Motorcraft semi in this car. I figured if I just stick with the manufacturer recommendation they can't complain if something goes awry...
