That setup has clusterf@#$ written all over it. Based on how close the trailer tires are to rubbing the box, the trailer must be waaaay overloaded. Then you tie that onto the tow vehicle with no weight distribution.

With the damage on the trailer box, tow vehicle window, and spare tire rim mounted up front, I wonder if this rig already found the ditch before these photos were taken.

He may have gotten to where he was headed, but it sure as hell wasn't safely. Every bump would have reduced the steering even more than it was already in the pic. Braking? Please... Maybe in about a mile. Any cop should have pulled that idiot over. That set up was just waiting to kill someone on the road.

Yes - and he probably has a very large vehicle insurance policy to cover others on the road, in case of a crash.........

And don’t you love people that tow trailers, that think they have the right to park and block numerous parking spaces designed for one vehicle?

TobyU, As you state, I suspect moving items around inside the trailer to reduce nose weight was an option, I suspect the whole rig weighted more than that car is rated to pull!! But also some kind of weight distribution hitch (plus moving items inside the trailer) was definitely in order, it must have been terrible to drive!! I sure hope he had a brake controller as well to help with braking!!

As far as taking up several spaces. What do you expect someone with a trailer to do? Drop it at the local truck stop so you can go somewhere that doesn't offer trailer parking?

All large vehicles should park way out in the end of lots if they have to take up multiple spots or extra area. That is being polite.
Lots with spaces car size are...made for cars.
If you aren't driving one, then you are 2nd in line for spots.

I don't do trailers bur I drive limos, party buses and 40 ft motorhome bus conversions.
I can park one in two spots in front of each other and will often do 10-12 spots away from the last populated area in a lot.
If there are no nose to nose areas and I have to park across spots, I usually do it at a backed in 45 degree angle and it takes at least 3 for even smaller limo.

As a real truck driver not a suv pickup truck driver but a 18 wheeler.

For starter, we are governed from 64 mph to 72 mph by most standards.

How about you little vehicles learn how to operate you're headlights, turn signals, and tail lights.

He HAS a weight distribution hitch! It's your standard cheapy round bar style. If you take a close look at the second picture, you can see the bar bent as far up as it'll go. Definitely not parallel to the ground per the manufacturer's instructions...

You're right. I missed the WDH with all that crap he has covering the A frame of the trailer.

Seeing the window on the side of the trailer, I'm wondering if this is one of those utility trailer conversions. Someone could be living in that thing. But man oh man, that whole rig is asking for trouble. I can see him bottoming out just pulling into the parking lot!

As RV'ers we tow a 30' travel trailer (with my one ton p/u) and sometimes have to park in a shopping center to go, well, shopping while on the road. I always find a spot waaaay out at the fringes of the parking lot (if there IS such a spot) so as to inconvenience the fewest people as possible. Even then it gets iffy sometimes.
