Are you guys assembling the USB directories yourselves or using the “simple” AIO download?

waiting to see a few more results here but will probably do the upgrade next weekend.

Use CyanLabs AIO. Much easier and they are spot on.

Reboot 2 Times in a row. See if the settings come back. None that I have done with the Hotspot have had this issue. You did the last step and went to 19274 correct?

So I did the 2 reboots and found a button in settings called FordPass Connect. Clicked on it and I can now see my hotspot settings. I don’t remember seeing that button before. I could’ve sworn I pressed on WiFi & hotspot immediately after upgrading as it was on version 3.0.

I just realized that Waze is built-in and I don't need to connect my Apple play?

But it is not as clean as CarPlay, IMO.

You still need to have the phone connected. But more importantly, it seems that Waze needs to be the active app on your phone to work. At least that was my experience. I just went back to CarPlay to use Waze.

Though I did turn off the Atuo connect to CarPlay. It just comes up on the default "Home" screen and then I can select CarPlay from there is I need it.

BMW disabled that. It was a Euro hold over and they got in trouble and fined for it.

Will this work in my 2017 or is it only for 2018 and newer models?

It will definitely work on your 2017! There is a separate thread in the Gen3 area about it.

I have had it on my 2017 since October...plus my 16 Edge before that.

Any Sync 3 system can have this update.

There is an aftermarket workaround to allow for this but it’s $500 or something like that.
Yes, it's called a Lock Pick. Needs to be installed (hardware) so I am leary about ripping my dash apart just to see the rear view while I'm driving (I get the towing aspect tho). That being said, entering data into your nav while driving is a great workaround, although I can see why it is a distraction.

Regarding my install, its great. As I mentioned, it was easy and pretty quick, no issues. I have not gone the extra step to 19074 or whatever the next version is. Any specific reason why I should go that step or just leave it?

Also, I found one small issue. I usually keep my lightning cord plugged into one of the front USB's (right next to the charge pad). But when I start my truck and the screen boots up I get a "Bad USB cable or charge pad" when it's plugged in. When it is not plugged in there is no error. I know the cable is good as it charges and connects to my phone otherwise. Not life changing, just thought I would mention it.

2 things. 19101 is BUGGY. You will notice issues. Heck, the error you are getting could be related.

19274 is MUCH more stable. I had weird issues when running below 19274.

What year is your Expy? I have seen that error, but it was on a 16, that had not swapped to the newer hub. Everything worked, just got the error.

Is it a generic lightning cable? Try an apple cable, and see if the error goes away.

Honestly, I think 19274 might take care of it, but you should do that update anyway.
