I just came back to the thread cause I still couldn't get my head around a 750 piece of wire. Heck, talk about proprietary pricing! I'd expect something like that from Siemens or Trane, not Ford.

WELDING cable, there you go.....a 45 lb battery cable.....LOL....might be a bit overkill but the guys are right about a good ground.

Something is not quite right.

The OP did not provide the year, make and model of his vehicle - but did post in the 3rd generation forum.

I checked on a price for the OEM positive battery cable for my 2015 Ford Expedition Limited 4x4. The Ford list price was $465.89, with an available purchase price of $279.73.

I know this is expensive - but not the $550 that the OP stated (plus labor).

Ford also issued a TSB with Information on how to replace the terminal wiring connector, and not the entire wiring harness. The OEM connector is very inexpensive, and a good alternative to replacing the harness.

A 750 piece of wire is sort of like when a laptop has a proprietary cable and there are not any any generics. So they can charge you a much higher price than it's worth. or the printer ink that can cost you $25 a cartridge and get it refilled for a buck.

I ditched HP years ago for that reason....a new print head is not required but you buy one each time. Cannon all in one....17 bucks of cheap chinese ink(yes the chips work too) 2 years ago got me 10 of each color....I STILL have spare ink!

I ditched clogging ink jets altogether, laser toner is real cheap now and lasts forever. I had a real nice ink jet a year ago as a back-up, printed a page once a month to keep it going and was a week late one time...……...it's in the landfill now. All laser now!

This. I replaced my inkjet with a Brother all in one with cheap off brand toner. No worries about it ever drying out or clogging. Works like a champ

I only use a Brother color laser now and never worry about ink drying up plus aftermarket toner is dirt cheap and lasts 2 years+- for me.

There are only a couple of lenths of cable. Battery to fuse box. Battery to starter solenoid. Solenoid to starter. Maybe the longest is 3-4 feet. Napa should have everything. A trip to the junk yard or EBaY will save a lot and get you the right one.

Great, right after you started talking printers my Epson CX6600 inkjet bit the dust.
It was your fault for spooking it! Had that baby since 2004 --- 16 years!!!! Always good.

So I thought I would have gone to a laser printer (since I am an ex Xeroid) too but they are like $500 with supplies. Naaaa. I bought an Epson Ecotank ET-2720 for $199. Nice machine.
Will now buy $301 worth of BEER.

Just a humble suggestion: research Brothers MFC J480W2 (print, scan, copy) owned over 4 years, and it is perfect........ $50

I haven't had a inkjet printer yet that I've been happy with. They are finicky annoying little pieces of crap.
Luckily they're down to under $40 for just a printer and all in ones are in the sixties so if you get a year out of them and over twice replacing the cartridges... If you have to throw them away and buy a new one you're doing okay.

If not available from other sources online and there are a ton of them out there, make your own out of parts. go to local parts store should have what you need, be prepared to get a little dirty or ask your wife to do the job. Just paid $571.00 for a new key for my 2011 Mercedes, and $109.00 for new front windshield wipers for my Ford E450 RV, dealers do whack you sometimes

I have driven a E450. They use standard 20, 21 or maybe 22, j-hook snap on style. They don't cost $109.

Switched to an Epson EcoTank last year and got rid of the power hungry laser printer. Reservoir that is refillable and the ink bottles are pretty cheap.
