Anyone else getting tired of emptying the little 3oz can? Well I just ordered the 6oz can for mine. It should hopefully last in between oil changes. Especially since I'm lucky to get 3k before needing a oil change.

When I contacted JLT a couple months ago they didn't think it would fit on an Expedition and didn't seem interested in selling me one.

Just took roughly an once out of the can yesterday after maybe 1000 miles since the can was emptied and the oil changed. My oil analysis showed fuel dilution twice the normal after 6000 miles/12 months since the last oil change.

Depends on where you mounted it. I mounted mine on fire wall. Some use the new battery mount. Firewall option should fit a 6oz can

Mine in on the firewall using the existing bolt there. I agree it "should" fit but JLT would not say so when I specifically asked. I'll dive in if the First Penguin survives.

And just a fyi, it's not a 6oz can. It is a "can extension". So you still use the existing 3oz can. According to there video the extension adds just over 3oz. I didn't measure it, but perhaps next oil change I will. Probably a 6.5oz can now?

I'll have to determine if I can route my hoses like the photo. At present it appears I can't fit the can extension.

Looks good. I just ordered one too.

Capacity is really only an issue for me in the winter, so with this setup I may be able to make it through the whole summer.

I wonder why they dont add a drain valve on these? Seams it would be just as easy to R&D that, as it did the can extension! Perhaps I will reach out to them and recommend that to them. It wouldn't take much if you had a tap. Certainly would cost less than the $39, for a petcock style drain valve.

Probably bc of location, would be difficult to get something back in that corner to catch what the plug drains out without having to run some hose way down low to access under the truck, then that hose gets gunked up. Now the higher $ ones that mount to the front of the radiator a little different story. I think for our 3rd gens the 3oz is perfect if emptied 2x between oil changes. At least it is for me. You just need to be very mindful of when the last drain occurred as Ive seen several f150s messed up due to overflowing cans. Also, don’t forget to clean the filter in the top part of the can lid every 10k miles

You got a link to messed up f150 threads? I have unscrewed mine to find it full a few times and worried about what would happen if not emptied in time.

I’ll see if I can screen shot the posts from the FB page. Basically it causes a lot of misfires and engine runs really rough

It's in all the instruction manuals. I think for the 15-17 expys it says every 15k. I'm just not sure if you have to remove the whole setup, or if you can unthread the 2 hoses?
