Likely acquiring one today.... if it's too big, I can switch down to 13.5ft. At the moment just have stock 2020 expy plat with sunroof and max tow and the included minimal roof rails.

I can also rent utility trailer from home depot for a few days if I need to upgrade roof rack system before putting Canoe on?

I tow a 15.5 foot canoe while towing a 23 foot RV. I actually think it helps my mpg while towing! This is the 4th car I have put the canoe on and it fits great. I use the stock rails And we have the sunroof. They are plenty strong. The hardest part is the height. I purchased the Reese towpower canoe loader. It plugs into the hitch and gives you a pivot point to get the canoe on. My canoe is pretty heavy at 85 lbs and I do it by myself and have a ton of control.

Get a set of these, someone on this forum suggested them to me and they make tying the front down so easy. We have a red royalex Old Town and it’s great, we wear it out... you’ll enjoy yours and have a lot of fun in it. Congrats!

Going to be honest... putting the canoe on the roof lasted for three weeks and then I sprained my back which is the not recommended thing for us wiser, more experienced (don't say older) citizens ... I suck.

Not sure you guys realize how much heavier the bigger real and non inflatable canoes weigh.. and how reliable teenagers are when asking for help moving things into a car... anyhow, lifting 91lbs in a super unwieldy form onto the expy roof mostly on my own is no longer in the playbook.

Better for the paint and sunroof anyway....

I'm going to splurge on a simple boat trailer that I can use also as a watercraft dolly, especially if it can also hold camping/fishing gear.

Looks like Yakima and Malone are the main canoe trailer brands..

I gave up on the canoe idea years ago. It’s just a complete PIA. I went to inflatable kayaks that work great for now. I’m going to either buy a beater pickup or a trailer at some point for the canoe.

You could always get a lighter weight canoe. I have a bell black and gold that I had loaded up in my old lifted megacab weighs around 38 pounds. Used a step ladder that I kept in the cap.

Damn 91 pound canoe?!? I was reading that expecting to say your in your 60’s or older but you buried the lead with the insane weight of that craft... 91 pounds is too much for almost anyone. Thank god for royalex, mine comes in at 58 lbs.

100 lbs isn’t anything. It’s how big it is. If you had a platform they make a roller for the back to help load stuff on the roof.

The day I bought home the Canoe, I ordered the Rhino Rack T Loader from etrailer.....I checked yesterday morning before posting, estimated ship date was late November.

Order cancelled.

I can get a trailer that I can use for boat storage and as a dolly for moving much faster. Trailer is more expensive though. $1,200-$3,000.

I love our geny. Simply the best way to tow small utility and travel trailers. Massive though.

Truth. Crazy how much difference it makes in bounce transmitted from the trailer to the TV. I have the 7.5" drop unit purchased originally for my pickup and have even used it to double up, reciever hitch bike rack in the top position and a long tongue trailer in a lower position.
