Ditto on the above. I do not have FX4 or HD Tow pkg so I have the 4 Auto only. Works great for me in the Dakota Snows but if I did anything remotely like serious off roading, I would play it safe and get the two speed Diff with Electronic Limited Slip.
But like I said earlier, my '18 went through last winter and some pretty deep snow, without once making me nervous.

So i guess as a follow up, if anyone can help, how capable is the 4WD on the Expedition? The one more serious camping trip I take is many miles washboard dirt road. Not concerned about that part. Then there is about 2 miles of descent on loose dirt with some rocks and ruts. Trying to figure out if just the 4WD alone without FX4 package would be capable of making the trek. I can't imagine it wouldn't but real life feedback is always appreciated.

look up the fast lane truck tests. Seems like they did at least two of the,, one in fx4 trim I believe.

They twsted two fx4s, an 18 and a 20. They liked the 18 a lot and chose it over a suburban but couldnt use it very well off road due to the tech and not knowin how to use it. They compared a ltd version fx4 against a lx570 where they both did incredibly well off road and actually chose the expy over the latter.

Yeah I watched that one. Seems very capable. I may just get the one with cameras. Going down in morning to see if I can make the deal.

in my experience, I would always recommend the FX4 package. there have been a few instances where such a package is merely cosmetic (Decals only in at least one case - one of the post emissions cobras) but as far as I know the Ford FX4 package has always been a functional enhancement.

Actually I realized that picture listed is not the one I have. They have it incorrect on the site where I pulled it from. Has the magnetic color wheels. Also the one you linked is the base model. I have the 202A with FX4. Wow good or wow bad?

Fyi I got it for less than that price. Lol

Here is mine with the incorrect dealership picture but correct stock pics: https://www.earnhardtford.com/new-Chandler-2020-Ford-Expedition-XLT-1FMJU1JT9LEA19057

URL above failed.

NICE! You got a new XLT Fx4 w/ 202A for less than $55K, that is a steal! WOW man!

Looks like it is pulled because I bought it. I am still showing the page but must be cached. Yeah I would have to look at the numbers again to see exactly what price was minus TTL.

Edit: Ok I got it for $54955, before trade in, down payment and TTL.

My 2019 FX4 with the same package also came with skid plates, which is something I think you would look for, also my FX4 comes with front and rear sway bars, which I think makes for a better ride. although, I only have the rear camera.

Own a 2018 Limited and use my 360 degree cameras frequently. In some cases I use as a crutch, versus learning where the parameters of the truck are! I find myself turning on front camera to confirm parking position pulling forward into a parking space in regards to the lines of the parking spot.
Where the camera is essential is entering narrow curved drive through lanes for carry out food or a pharmacy I use. Granted I have 22” rims that I do not want to scratch against a curb.
I will keep my truck for many years and would prefer to spend more and get what I want and not be swayed into buying something just because it was a good deal.

Long time lurker (over a year), but 1st time poster. Learned a lot from this place and it is appreciated. Now for my long rambling post....

About ready to pull the trigger on a new 2020 Expedition XLT 4x4. Planning on 202A package for sure. Here is the dilemma. There are 3 XLT FX4s with the camera in my metro area. Slim pickings. I really would like to get the camera. It is a useful feature. My wife's Santa Fe has a 360° camera and I love the thing. However, I can't get a discount on the Expedition with it. They are basically the price minus incentives. I have tried to negotiate and they aren't willing to budge. If I just get the 202A alone, I can get a significant discount. Even though the camera package is only $2k more MSRP, I would end up paying $5k more for it.

I do a few camping trips per year, one of which is a bit more challenging of a drive. There is no question the standard 4x4 would make the trip fine. Obviously the FX4 would make it better. So basically, and sorry for the rant, is if the FX4 + camera is a worthwhile $5k upgrade.

Looking for some thoughts, advice, input from members here. I appreciate any feedback.

OK, but don't laugh! LOL! Have you tried to get a price from COSTCO? Yep! COSTCO! And if you don't already have a membership $60 could save a ton of money! Their latest figures (2018) show they sold 650,000 new cars to their members. Just sayin'..... Good Luck!

Hi
Just saw this post
I live in Tonopah, AZ
Bought a 2018 EXPY from Jones Ford in Buckeye May of 2018
Great to work with, offered greater discounts at the time & their sales tax much lower than in the greater Phoenix area
EXPY has both HD tow & FX4 package
Would not buy another one without those options
3:73 axle so much better than the 3:31
Much better acceleration
Locking axle great for desert driving around our area
I have attached pdf of the window sticker
Great vehicle
Will probably trade it a new one in about a year (will have about 60K miles on it then)
Want the new one optioned the same
Happy driving with your new vehicle:33:

If you want to keep the adaptive cruise control you will have to go up to the limited trim as the 20’s and 21’s no longer have it as an option.
Yes I want the adaptive cruise
I am aware that I will have to get a limited to get the cruise
Just hope to find a limited with the cruise, HD tow, FX4 & no vista roof
Might be hard to find:33:

the Costco dealer in my area is over thirty minutes away, maybe 45 even with no traffic. They refused to quote me the Costco discount without me showing up. Worse yet they didn’t have one in the lot close to what I wanted so would have to play the dealer trade roulette game. They always claim “it doesn’t cost anything,” which is as bogus of a thing a dealer can tell you. So had to go on living without knowing what the discount was.

I can tell you the carpet place discount wasn’t one. It was merely 15% markup over what other places charged, rebated in the form of a Costco gift card.

I like Costco but I have to agree that unless you luck into a friendly dealership it will not save you money. You’re better off with X plan if you don’t want to negotiate.
