Metal pieces from windshield wiper arms?? Fell off onto windshield.

I’m not sure if that’s true or not. Wipers still work fine as normal.

I have them too, went through an automatic car wash and noticed them on my hood as I drove out.

This little tab I circled in red. You pull it out to take the windshield wipers off. So it’s not for that.

Do you guys think if this piece is gone. It adds to the problem of the passenger side wiper not returning to the park position over the heaters? I tried to re clock mine and didn’t notice this piece. Must be gone.

Epoxied them in place. They do seem like they need to be there. Takes up all the slop in the spline.

Mine fell out over a year ago - put them back - and they fell out again. I never put them back and don’t see any slop or issue. I think they’re called a Woodfuff Key.

Mine have been out since February of 2018, 36k miles later I haven’t had any issues.
