Override TPM warning light?

When I switched wheels on my 2010 they did not come with the tire pressure monitors so I have a constant fault message. I can hit reset to make message go away but tire pressure warning light stays on. Any way to override this?

Get a plastic sprinkler tube, a valve stem, some good used tpm's on ebay (the banded type), and a tpm scanner (cheap). Pressurize it to 45 psi, scan them all at one time while pressurized or scan them each while sitting on top of each wheel. (I scanned mine pressurized but didn't need to). Now attach the tube under the truck.............I did a write up on it earlier.

if you are going to buy the sensors, why not actually fit them inside your new wheels and have the added safety of the TPMS system, rather than put them in a sealed pressurized container that is doing nothing (other than masking the warning message)?

Because I am too tight to buy them and break the tires down, plus I don't need that hogwash anyway. I am running my summer tires now that does have them but didn't bother to program them.

Did that before but it puts an icon on the cluster also.

You may need two pieces, but electrical tape works well on the cluster too.

No it cannot be by passed, just put a set of TPMS on my '07 that still had the old band style. New ones were 37 bucks each and are part of the tire stem, they could save you from a wreck if tire gets a fast leak on freeway.

Not going to happen and they can be bypassed.

It can be erased, but you need a laptop and an USB/OBD2 cable.

The program you need to use is forscan. Basic version is free, but you'll need to upgrade to do the programming. I don't recall the programming sequence, but others have done it.

I would have and even bought a laptop for it (desktop fan) but most of the sellers of forscan said it wouldn't work with my year Navigator so I sold the laptop and went the tpms in the tube route.
