Tuesday, after a 30 mile trip, I parked my 03 Eddie Bauer the in driveway. Wednesday morning, I start it up and move under the car port. Tailgate Ajar warning light came on. Turned engine off closed the door... dome lights stayed on. I checked the tailgate, it was locked and hasn't even been opened in at least a month. Opened the tailgate and slammed it twice, still showing ajar and dome lights still on. Opened and slammed it a third time...tailgate ajar warning is gone and dome lights turned off.
This has happened several times over the years but was always easily remedied by opening and closing the tailgate once. Do I have an electrical problem, a switch problem, or a latch problem?
