I swiped a curb pretty good the other day and got some serious rash. Anyone have a 22" Platinum rim for sale?

(Didn't want to take off to send for repair and drive on spare)

I really hope THIIIIIIS is Doug DeMuro as our Expis certainly have enough quirks and features (well, maybe more quirks than features) but DeMuro’s got his hands full with his new Defender these days. Haha

He could do a whole two hour show on the quirks and features in the new gen expy's. Problem is he would need to search high and low to find one where all those gadgets actually work.

I've had good success with these guys at Detoit Wheel & Tire in the past. Looks like about $700, but would be less if you send back your damaged wheel so they can refinish and resell it.

Well I decided to repair myself and here is the result (accidentally got some paint on the tire oops)

Varying sandpaper grit... 80 grit for the really big chunks... Then 400,800 and finished with 1500.

I would say I could have skipped the 400 if I had to do it again.

Then I found a matching wheel paint and a gloss clear coat. I am really happy with the results.

It looked painted to me when I was sanding... I thought they were polished as well.

When I completely smoothed the surface with the 1500 grit I am certain it would not have looked right with just a clear coat.
