I’m getting I’m sick and tired of having to reselect drive modes every time I get into the vehicle. My 21 Superduty remembers the last drive mode used and defaults to that. Is there a way to do that with a 21 Expedition? TIA

Nope. They have to make it default to "normal" because that is the mode they got certified with the EPA for the gas mileage numbers and that is what applies to Ford's fleet-wide CAFE numbers. Your Super Duty (well, not just yours, all SuperDutys) are factored into Ford's CAFE using a different standard so they can allow those larger vehicles to remember the drive mode.

I think some of the aftermarket tunes come with a default change, so it might be possible with FORScan, but I don't know.

Gotcha. Would you know if that mechanism is on the TCM or the ECM?
I doubt it. I can’t get ForScan to even link into the BCM at this point. As for my SuperDuty, no issues. I could, however, make changes in the IPC module for temp display on the cluster but I can’t turn on Bambi Mode or Secure Idle which is BS. I keep getting a service interruption when I try changes on the BCM…‍♂️

It is very annoying in the winter. I would like it to stay in snow mode until I take it out.

If you have a 21 Expedition, please go to the FORSCAN area, there is a thread where the Beta version of FORSCAN is posted that will work with a 21. Search is your friend.

Also, DO NOT use direct line code changes from any previous Expeditions, as the 21's are even somewhat different than the 20's. Use the drop downs.

Also, FORSCAN cannot change the default. It will default to Normal. The 21 150's ask you. If you don't answer in a few seconds it goes back to Normal.

I have done it on my 2019 2wd. It works 95+% of the time.

I was wondering about the same thing. Sometimes forget to put it back into Tow mode after stopping.

Hmm, my 2018 Platinum seems to do just fine setting tow mode whenever the electrical plug is inserted. It informs me the next time I start it that it's off - no trailer detected. Nice feature, but dumb that it has to display an alert for 10 or so seconds unless I hit the ok button.

it stays in the mode your were in before you turned the vehicle off and exited?
Yes, it stays in the same mode as the last time I drove it.

See thread below. It also list some of the pluses and minuses.
