Is there a way that I can get my Expedition to always begin in Eco mode instead of “normal”?

I think Ford needs to do a system update. Would be nice to have menu options for that type of stuff.
I have a list myself one being when you set the A/C the recirculate it resets next time.
And I would like the headlights not to be in Auto all the time.

I have a 2018 Platinum, and back when I first took delivery, I asked the question as to whether or not I could set my vehicle to default to Sport Mode, instead of it reverting back to 'normal' after a key cycle. I also asked if there is a was a way to default to Start/Stop to disabled. Whether this is correct or not, I was told EPA certification prevented Ford from systemically turn off Start/Stop, or making certain drive modes, other than Normal.

There is a way someone one on here did it a while ago. It’s messy though and requires a bit of wiring.

I was able to disable auto/start stop via ForScan software. Not sure about enabling the vehicle to always start in a certain mode, but I wouldn't be surprised if its possible if one digs deep enough into the code.

Personally, I would not run in Eco. It really does nothing aside from lugging your engine which is terrible for a turbo charged motor.

This is disheartening to hear, I’ve actually improved my mpg these last few months using Eco. Isn’t Eco the only mode CCD kicks in? Can you expand on this a bit?

You can disengage the auto headlights. Just push forward on the stalk. You’ll see the little “A” disappear inside your headlight indicator on the dash.

CCD is always on. The way it responds is tied into the drive mode selected. I feel that the suspension is too sloppy in Econ mode.

Is there a custom mode on the expedition where you can change engine and suspension settings separately? I run my stinger with firm handling but eco engine settings when commuting for that exact reason.

Ford electronics sux.. I purchased an autostop delete to stop that stupid forced option. I always drive in eco mode.... when I remember to chance it. It does save gas.
Stupid that it can not remember the last mode.. Even my motorcycle can remember what I did last time I shut down.. even what direction I used my turn signal last.

No, you can't combine different attributes into a custom drive mode...unfortunately.
