My 2022 limited 4x4 ionic silver came in last night. I ordered it in October 2021 the first day Ford would accept retail orders . Ford was very good keeping me posted on the build. I ordered it for MSRP with 1000 down. It did sit for over 3 months this spring waiting for chips after it was built in Kentucky. Came by rail to Tampa. Picked it up last night. Good news is the 3000 dollar rebate that I did not know I was getting till I walked into the dealership last night. Other good news, my MSRP was locked in at Oct 2021 prices, so that is another intangible rebate of sorts since the MSRP has risen. Some dealers in Florida charge handling fees 2-3 thousand or more above MSRP. Ford stepped up its game with the 15 inch screen and the connectivity with applications etc. There is no engine covers on the 2022s. Its like wearing no underwear with baggy short shorts. It looks so unfinished. Ive owned two Explorers before this with contoured engine covers. I always thought the engine covers had a role in reducing engine noise. I initially thought it was stolen in transit. But we checked another 2022 on the lot and it had no engine cover. My other concern is the it feels like I have an out of balance tire and feel it in the steering wheel. Pressures are correct. I am wondering if a tire or two have flat spots since it sat stationary outside for 3 plus months waiting for chips? Going to get a service ticket for next week and see whats going on. Anyone with a new 2022 not have an engine cover or is it a shortage? Some do some don't? I have an IOU for the rear A/C module chip. Could be 21 months from now i was told. Overall I feel very lucky to have a new 2022 Expedition ordered with my options and color.. The 9 month wait was still worth it.

The MIA engine cover has been discussed on this forum previously.

Ford eliminated the engine cover on the Expedition and Navigator models sometime in 2021.

I agree that the cover should help with noise suppression.

Others have posted that the brackets are still present, and that they purchased and installed an engine cover.

Thank you for the clarification. Moved over from the Explorer forum today where engine covers rule...at least for now. Is there a part # some where on this forum for the cover??

I have a 2022 with the SPP. I also have the same experience with feeling like there is a slight shake in the steering wheel. I had the dealer do a road force balance on all four tires. They found 3 of 4 were out of balance. It is now better, but there is still a slight vibration in the steering wheel. If I take my hands off the wheel at highway speeds you can still visibly see the wheel vibrate (turn) left/right. Very strange. It is almost like the wheel is being steered left/right by the tire tread pattern. Not sure, but it is noticeable, especially after coming from my 2019 Edge ST which is rock solid.

Interesting... do you have 22 inch wheels with General tires? General tires are not exception tires. I am sure its balance or flat spots on the tires. Maybe others on this forum will respond after taking delivery of their 2022.

I vaguely recall someone posting the Expedition cover part number in another thread. Perhaps do a search?

My General Tires after sitting for three months prior to delivery also feel incorrect. I'm assuming the tires are flat and hoping they'll roll out in a week or two. I'll come back to this thread if it doesn't happen.

Yes, I do have the General Grabbers. I have nearly 1000 miles on the truck already. No improvement. At high speeds, like 80+, you can really feel the vibration coming up through the seats. As I mentioned all 4 ties have been road force balanced. That did help a little, but there is still something wrong. I am starting to wonder about a bent or out of balance driveshaft

My 2021 Expedition Limited 4X4 heavy duty towing package ( iconic silver ) was delivered in March 2021 WITHOUT an engine cover. When I opened the hood while looking over the vehicle the sales rep seemed surprised as well. He shortly discovered that Ford had quit putting them on. I refused to accept the vehicle. Within 24 hours the dealership ordered a 2020 engine cover to complete the vehicle.
Recently I had a FIRE recall telling me not to park it near my house. 1 month later in for the recall. Don't know what was done to it but turbo's NO longer kick in the same way, vibrates while idling, and gas mileage has dropped from 17 to 18 down to 15.2 mpg ??? I am out of town and will address it upon my return.
OH yeah one more complaint, since delivery the right rear passenger door will not close properly leaving running board out UNLESS you SLAM the door. Dealer states they think its ok that way and if they try to correct it they might make it worse ??? WOW Really. Guess I need a NEW dealership.
HAS ANYONE else had the fire recall done and experienced the issues I am having or with the door. (Door is clearly visible that it is misaligned about 1/4 inch as it doesn't line up with rear quarter panel).
