2018 Expedition Engine Knocking?

I believe the static/hissing/whoosh noise was coming from the fact that the BOV wasn’t re-installed with the piston and o-ring lol. The left one is what I pulled out, the right one is the one I put in. I’m going to make a separate post about this to make sure I’m thinking about it correctly…I’m still getting the whoosh sound but it seems quieter, turbo seems slightly more responsive too.

those are two vastly different BOV's. My guess is the new one with the extra gasket is simply a new design that supersedes the previous part number. A whoosh in a turbo is completely normal, but on stock setups like these the excess pressure is returned back to the closed loop system so you don't really hear it. I put my VTA BOV in and love the difference in turbo response and the whoosh is crazy audible, reminds of my little racing Integra with a massive turbo 20 yrs ago.

The turbos do make a whoosh or low whistle sound that is normal and you really have to be listening for it, it isn't super loud.
