Auto Start, Shift to Park then Restart Engine error

Anyone else have this issue where when at a stop the Auto Start shuts down completly and this warning light pops up requiring you to shift the car into park then hit the start button before being able to advance to shifting into drive.

Your battery is going bad. Same thing happened to ours. Same message on the cluster. Top tip.. make sure you disable the ASS (auto start stop) after you start the vehicle. ASS kills batteries especially if you short trip a lot.

Wait you can disable it via Forscan? I always thought you had to wire in a dongle in the back like the one for F150s:

There are disable devices out there but it's easy to just push the button every time you start it.

There are disable devices out there but it's easy to just push the button every time you start it.

After a week it's muscle memory. Starting is now a two button push!

I highly recommend to get the auto stop delete. Very easy to install.. no more surprise shut down.. or worse.. surprise start as someone is getting in or out of the car.
